Opening day of the PSL 2009/10 season was a battle in the heat, as SSFAC fell to Rovers 2-1 in a very entertaining game at De Anza College in Cupertino. SSF struck first as Fabio Marques put home a penalty kick in minute 26. Rovers came back to equalize in the 29th minute, then followed up a rebound from a brilliant penalty kick save by Danny Cardoza to take a 2-1 lead before the half. SSF dominated the second half and had Rovers on their heels, but couldn't come up with the goal to tie the match.
