It took 7 games for somebody to finally knock off SSFAC, and although they took a loss, it didn't come easy for Goal Busters in their 2-1 win over the home side this past Sunday. South City started slow and Busters had some good early chances, but SSF stood strong and held them off. South City then began to establish themselves as Shane Kutaka, Brendan Cadam and Carlos Ballesteros started stringing together some solid passes to create chances for Eduardo Isatio and Kris Szeto, who saw their attempts go just wide or were saved by the Busters keeper.
The 2nd half saw Goal Busters come out with some pace and dominating the ball which led to a goal coming from the edge of the penalty area. This seemed to get SSF charged up and within 5 minutes they drew level as Brendan Cadam hit a beautiful free kick from the edge of the box to make it 1-1. Busters regained the lead a short time after as their winger hit a shot that took a deflection and found the bottom corner of the net. South City tried hard to find the equalizer but without a deep bench this day, their legs failed them in the end and the strong effort fell just a bit short.
The boys return home again this Sunday when they meet Gordon Biersch with kickoff set for 10:30 am
