It was the rematch of an earlier battle with these two clubs, and the sequel didn't disappoint. Both SSF and Sporting started postively with Santa Clara playing the ball with purpose, but South City stayed compact. As Sporting continually committed players forward in the attack, SSF countered when play broke down. Sam Nadell and Eduardo Isatio were playing some great balls forward and Shane Kutaka, Carlos Ballesteros and Kevin Ma worked together tirelessly to keep the ball moving into the attack. Every time Sporting attacked, the SSF defense stood strong with Martin Wright, Gareth Lea, and Brendan Cadam bolstering the back line. Goal keeper Adrian Monroy was again outstanding as he saved some dangerous chances.
The second half showed much of the same as these two clubs went toe to toe in an intense battle. Monroy again making saves and both clubs looking for scoring chances, but on this day, both SSFAC and Sporting held their ground and the final of 0-0 was only fitting as everyone gave it their all.
Thanksgiving week provides the team with a week off to enjoy time together with family and friends and play resumes on Sunday, December 8th when JASA Dos comes to El Camino High School to face Souith City. Kickoff is 10:30 am
