SSFAC continued their winning ways into 2020 as they traveled to Palo Alto for the final road game of the season and downed Palo Alto SC 3-1. South City started brightly making some good chances right away. They began to get a real foothold of the match as Danny Turgeon, Brendan Cadam, Eduardo Isatio and Sam Nadell took complete control of the midfield. PASC couldn't get out of their own half as SSF tried to find a way through the defense. As halftime approached, Nadell was taken down by a PASC defender and Martin Wright stepped up to take the free kick. His strike was right on target and the PASC keeper made a huge error and the ball went into the back of the net.
The second half with South City leading 1-0 started exactly the same way as the boys took control of the ball again and created chances on net. Goal number two would come when Nadell cut in from the right side and placed it into the corner. SSF was now in full control and added their 3rd goal when Turgeon played a superb ball through the middle of the PASC defense, and with some confusion among them, newcomer Chris Kyriacou made his debut a successful one as he slotted home the ball into an empty net. PASC started to come back as SSF got a little sloppy with the ball, and manged to pull one back for a 3-1 scoreline. That would be it however as SSF goalkeeper Adrian Monroy along with the teams outstanding defense were up to the task and closed the game out.
SSFAC now has a run of 5 home games to close out the season, starting next Sunday, January 19th vs Goal Busters at El Camino High. Kickoff is 10:30am
