In their 3rd and final match up of the season, SSF started fast against Goal Busters as they kept possession of the ball superbly. SSFAC created many decent chances, but unfortunately their shots were just a bit off target. Busters were trying their best to get into the game, but South City remained strong on the ball. In the 40th minute, SSF struck as Brendan Cadam saw the Goal Busters keeoer playing off his line and he placed a beautiful shot from about 40 yards out over his head to give SSF the 1-0 lead they carried into halftime.
The second half started just the opposite as Busters came out with a more intense style of play and with gave SSF a bit of a problem. Busters controlled a good amount of the second half and finally were rewarded for it when a ball sent into the SSF box fell to a Goal Busters midfielder and he slammed it home for the equalizer.
South City tried to sneak in a winner, but Danny Turgeon's late free kick was just wide of the mark, and both sides had to share the points on this day.
SSFAC now has an open weekend as their next opponent, Gordon Biersch has forfeited the match to SSF. Up next is the battle for the top spot as SSF entertains defending champion Santa Clara Sporting on Super Sunday, February 2nd at El Camino High School with kickoff set for 10:30am. This is their third and final meeting and SSF has a win and a tie thus far in the previous encounters
