Aside from coaching, Mike also worked on the staff of the San Francisco Fog of the Major Indoor Soccer League in 1980 where the team played their games at the historic Cow Palace in Daly City. In 2007, he went on to work for the United Soccer League's California Victory as the Game Day Operations Manager. He also was the teams PA announcer at Kezar Stadium. Mike also spent time that season volunteering with the PDL San Francisco Seals.
 
In 2008, Mike became the Visiting Team Liaison for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes, working 10 years for the organization at Buck Shaw & Avaya Stadiums. He also spent 2 years with the PDL Burlingame Dragons FC, an affiliate of the Earthquakes. 2017 found Mike working for the NASL Champion San Francisco Deltas, who won the title in their inagural and only season in San Francisco.
 
Mike retired from coaching in 2018 and remains as SSFAC's Team President, guiding the team in an administrative capacity as needed. Scott Ellis guided the team for one season after a great career on defense for the team. When he moved away, the team saw another great run of success lead by Player Coach,  midfielder Gareth Lea. The team won the Majors Divison in the PSL's Final Season, and now the team competes in the SWPL Lea retired after the 2022 season and the team is now lead by Kevin Ma and he will have defender Martin Wright and midfielder Greg Hiu as his assistants.

 

                                     

   
   
   
Mike began coaching soccer in 1974 when he volunteered to be a part of the American Youth Soccer Organization in South San Francisco. He eventually became the Regional Commissioner in SSF until he moved on in 1983. During his time in AYSO, he coached many different age groups, but he guided the U18's for seven years from 1976-1982. During that stretch, his teams won 3 Divisional Titles and compiled a record of 57-11-6. including an unbeaten streak of 21 games  
   
In 1984, Mike took over the reigns of South San Francisco A.C. from Alvaro Bettucchi, the teams original coach and founder. In 1996, SSFAC won the 2nd Division Title with a record of 13-1-4 and were promoted to the 1st Division, playing there until 2006, when a second place finish earned them promotion to the League's Premier Division. Since 2013, the team has competed in the Peninsula Soccer Leagues top flight division, the Majors Division and in 2018, the PSL became a Regional Division of the NorCal Premier League..  
   
During Mike's 34 years with SSFAC, he has seen many talented players and competed against some of the top clubs in the North Peninsula and Santa Clara County as part of the Peninsula Soccer League. Mike also served as a Board Member for the league and as the Disciplinary Chairman  
   
Mike coached the SSF Shooters of the Golden Gate Womens Soccer League from 1995-2005. With his oldest daughter Stacey as the teams defensive sweeper, the Shooters won 5 Divisional Titles during their run.
